Stitch has become an unlikely star among Disney’s characters. The blue alien is so popular that he ranks in the top 10 bestselling Disney franchises, alongside stalwarts such as Mickey and Minnie Mouse, the princesses, Star Wars and Marvel, the company said.

Some children in Chicago with special needs got a private showing of the new Disney movie as miniature therapy horses greeted them at AMC theaters in Schaumburg. It's part of a program by the nonprofit Mane in Heaven called Minis and Movies.
