Although his big budget space opera Rebel Moon failed to hit with critics and audiences, it doesn’t seem to have deterred Netflix from extending its partnership with Zack Snyder, with Deadline reporting that the filmmaker is currently developing a new feature project for the streaming giant.

Fresh off his sci-fi epic Rebel Moon, director Zack Snyder is pivoting in an unexpected direction with his next Netflix project: a gritty, grounded action thriller centered on the Los Angeles Police Department.

This LAPD project is being set up at Netflix, which has hosted the last few Snyder flicks including the Rebels Moon. According to The Hollywood Reporter, “Specific details are being kept in lock-up, but the action thriller is being described as being set in the high-stakes world of life and death and centered on an elite LAPD unit that is relentlessly confronted with the unforgiving collision of law and morality.
