The police on Friday said that a 21-year-old woman was allegedly raped by three persons on the outskirts of Pune, while her male was assaulted, reported news agency PTI. The gang rape was allegedly committed in the Bopdev Ghat area around 11 pm on Thursday,

The Kondhwa Police have arrested one suspect, identified as Raje Khan Karim Pathan, a 36-year-old resident of Kondhwa. A search is underway for the other two accused.

In response to the incident, ten police teams have been established to locate the perpetrators. An official from the Kondhwa police station confirmed that the assault occurred in an isolated area, where the trio not only raped the woman but also assaulted her male friend.
