Multinational giant PepsiCo has acquired Poppi, a brand of prebiotic "healthy" sodas that are part of the growing functional beverage market.

Last year, several class-action lawsuits were filed against a prebiotic soda claiming the product didn’t improve gut health as much as advertised.
