Barely half a day since announcing ranked changes for the mid-season Marvel Rivals changeover, a mass protest by players led NetEase to ditch the idea entirely, while keeping the cosmetic rewards in place they had originally planned. It’s kind of stunned the community which wasn’t expecting this kind of result, and certainly not this quickly.

Marvel Rivals Rank Reset Set For Feb. 21; Competitive Changes Outlined
Aside from adding new heroes and changing gameplay balance, NetEase also wants to shake up Marvel Rivals' Competitive mode. The first half of Season 1 will conclude on Feb. 21, after which all ranks will be locked in. Once the mid-season rolls in, some changes are on the way, though it's debatable whether they're good changes or not.
