New York Governor Kathy Hochul says inspectors detected seven cases of the virus in poultry at live bird markets in the Bronx, Brooklyn, and Queens over the past week. FOX 5 NY's Linda Schmidt has the details.

Gov. Kathy Hochul announced a weeklong shutdown of all live poultry markets in New York City, Westchester County and on Long Island in an effort to thwart transmission of bird flu.

The order also temporarily shuts down all bird markets in Westchester, Nassau and Suffolk counties after 7 cases were detected in NYC poultry.
