JEFFERSON COUNTY — The driver in a Valentine's Day crash that killed a 20-year-old woman has now been charged. Huggy Smiles Kindness, 36, from High Ridge, was charged with first-degree involuntary manslaughter this week. Authorities identified the driver of the other vehicle as Jaden Martinson, of Dittmer.

Daiqwaun Lucas, who was 16 at the time of the killing and is 19 now, was found guilty of first-degree intentional homicide.

A 23-year-old woman died in a crash Saturday after her SUV rear-ended a semitruck on Highway 67, according to MSHP.

JEFFERSON COUNTY — A 23-year-old De Soto woman died in a crash near Festus Saturday afternoon, according to the Missouri Highway Patrol. The woman was driving a 2010 Ford Expedition north on Highway 67 near Highway CC around 3:45 p.m. when she hit the rear of a truck that was slowing for congestion, the troupers said.
