A huge sun eruption combines with speedy solar wind from a "coronal hole" for a weekend aurora show, experts predict.

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration predicted a much stronger northern lights display than usual Saturday night following a strong geomagnetic storm.

The aurora could be visible tonight and early Sunday in the northern U.S. states and even into the lower Midwest, according to the NOAA/NWS Space Weather Prediction Center.
