Former New York Gov. David Paterson and his stepson were attacked Friday evening while walking near their home in New York City, according to a spokesperson for Paterson.

Police say two boys, ages 12 and 13, were arrested Saturday in connection with an assault on former New York Gov. David Paterson and his stepson.

Mr. Paterson and his stepson suffered minor injuries in a street attack on Friday. The former governor was not believed to have been targeted in the assault, the police said.
