MOUNT PROSPECT, Ill. (WLS) -- Wednesday was the funeral for Bears principal owner Virginia Halas McCaskey. Family, friends and football legends gathered for her funeral at Saint Emily Catholic Church in Mount Prospect. A number of former players and coaches came out to pay their final respects, including Lovie Smith and Brian Urlacher.

The Chargers’ Dean Spanos, the Giants’ John Mara, the Chiefs’ Clark Hunt, the Bengals’ Mike Brown and the Cardinals’ Michael Bidwill were among the NFL owners who made the trip to Mount Prospect. Packers president Mark Murphy drove in. Cubs chairman Tom Ricketts was there, too, as was Cook County Board president Toni Preckwinkle.
