Griffen is the fifth KU men’s basketball player to enter the portal and the third to do so in the last two days. He joins guards Rakease Passmore, David Coit and big men Flory Bidunga and Zach Clemence as players leaving coach Bill Self’s program.

Flory Bidunga averaged 5.9 points, 5.4 rebounds, and 1.6 blocks during his freshman campaign in Lawrence. Now the former star recruit is in the transfer portal.

The Kansas Jayhawks have already lost five players to the transfer portal. Some were expected, others were a bit of a surprise. Nonetheless, this is the state of college athletics these days and head coach Bill Self and the Jayhawks staff will need to continue to make adjustments to how they recruit and shape their roster going forward.
