Google is trying out smart glasses again.At its Google I/O keynote address on Tuesday, Google showed off a product that was referred to simply as "Android XR glasses" in both the presentation and the accompanying blog post.

Android XR is still in the early stages, but I got to try a prototype pair at Google I/O: Promising hardware and it should benefit from changing attitudes about smart glasses.

Google finally addressed Android XR hardware, saying at I/O 2025 that Gemini AI smart glasses are coming soon.
