Andrew Benintendi was placed on the 10-day injured list by the White Sox before Wednesday's game against the Cleveland Guardians because of a left adductor strain, a blow in what has been another rough start to Chicago's season.

The slumping Chicago White Sox now will have to make do without one of their best hitters as outfielder Andrew Benintendi was placed on the 10-day injured list, retroactive to April 7, Wednesday with a left adductor strain.

"Just continue to just give it a little rest and do some exercise to strengthen the stuff around it," Benintendi said Wednesday. "Feels better today than it did yesterday. It’s just one of those things I think it's going to take a few days,
