In 2014, the Nile Theatre celebrated “75 Years of Movie Magic” in downtown Mitchell. The Nile first opened its doors on Nov. 21, 1939, in downtown Mitchell. The featured movie was “Under-Pup,” starring Gloria Jean and comedian Robert Cummings. ​ The theater is family-owned and operated by Ward and Sara Krichau of Scottsbluff, Nebraska.
