Our entire family of 11 went on this trip. 7 adults and 4 children with the youngest being 19 months. All the children, other than the baby, were great swimmers which helped with snorkeling! This …Full review by Seaside434520

If you are looking for a quiet time while on St John I would recommend staying at Coral Bay. And it is only a 20 min drive to Cruz Bay. Best of both worlds!Full review by rbrocks5

We stayed in Coral Bay 9 years ago and loved it! It was beautiful and quiet but now it is really run down. Looks like hurricane Irma really took a toll on the Coral bay side.Full review by MIDWESTROBIN

Hi. Does St. John have any Jeep rentals where you can tour the island? Especially around the mountainous areas?

There are plenty of Jeep rentals on St John, and St Thomas---but it's getting more difficult to rent because the pace of repair work is stepping up and it seems that the workers take a lot of the Jeeps. We've always rented on at STT, drive over to Red Hook and take the barge. Last time our plane was delayed, and we missed the last car ferry, it was a mess. But there were NO rentals available on St J by that time. So make sure you reserve way in advance, and i would say try the St J companies. Be aware that the 'big name' rental companies are actually locally owned so expect no help or recourse from the parent company if you have a problem (another reason to rent local). I'm not sure if you're asking if there are guided tours, but ALL of St J is mountainous. it's particularly helpful to have a 4WD vehicle (and pay attention to the vehicle type, not all Jeeps are 4 WD) but not absolutely necessary. It's not hard to get around if you can deal with the left-side driving, and well worth it. On the other hand there are small jitney-style transports that will take you from Cruz Bay to the closer beaches if you don't want to drive.
