Cabela's Pellet Smoker 'Flame out' (Camp Chef DLX)
WEBOct 8, 2017 · So I really liked to options of the Camp Chef and found out that the Cabela's smoker for $549 is the exact same pellet smoker as the Camp Chef DLX for $699. Picked it up at Cabela's and I really like it - except for one thing. Flame outs! I've done 7 smokes so far, using the 'Cookin Pellets' competetion blend.

WEBAug 13, 2017 · After a year of searching, I finally settled on a Cabela's 48" pellet smoker. I fired it up once so far using Cabela's alder wood pellets. Did the 3-2-1 method on baby back ribs which previously worked so well for me. I gotta admit, the end product was very disappointing. the texture was pretty spot on.

WEBDec 12, 2023. #2. From what I've seen, Cabela's grill is probably a Pit Boss. For me, the Traeger would be better in the long run since they would have better support. As for pellets, I usually buy them at Lowes or HD for the price. A quick look at how much dust is in a bag goes to the quality of the pressing. F.

I just smoked a 16lb (pre trimmed) brisket and it was awful. It seemed to cook way to fast I had it set at 220 and it was 190 in 6 hrs unwrapped and not tender.

WEBJun 7, 2015 · I thought the Cabela's apple pellets were good, but I'm using the peach pecan now, and the amount of ash is ridiculous. There's so much, it leaves a gray tinge on the skin when I smoke a turkey. So I'm not using them anymore, I'm going to find another brand. Even the Menard's brand were better, but I don't want to buy a 40lb. bag.
